Since the current Stallings Town Hall was built in 2005, the population of our community has more than doubled. With that growth has brought increased demands on service levels to our citizens. As a result, the Town is considering expanding, not for the purposes of building a “Taj Mahal”, but rather to provide functional space that will help the Town continue to provide services to our citizens into the future.
To accomplish this goal, the Town is considering financing the building of a new 4,943 SF Town Hall that would house a new Town Council chamber, Parks & Recreation offices, and other flex space. As part of this same project, the Town is considering building a 2,675 Public Works Building. Both facilities will be beside the current Town Hall at the current Civic Building (to be demolished). The total construction contract cost for the project is budgeted at $3,126,000 with $2,918,000 to be financed.
In addition to last Monday’s meeting, the Town Council is again asking for the public’s feedback on this project at the 12/10/18 Town Council Meeting. This meeting will begin at 6:00 PM at Stallings Town Hall located at 315 Stallings Road.
