Our community Shred-it event promotes raising awareness about identity theft and fraud by reminding local residents about the importance of securely destroying personal documents.

This event is for secure PAPER document destructions and below are things that CANNOT be shred:

-Electrical Items
-Large Metal Objects (Staples, paperclips, butterfly clips)
-Sharp Objects
-Ink Cartridges and toners
-Pressurized Containers
-Medical Waste (Pills, syringes, etc.)
-X Rays
-Food Waste
-Cardboard Tubes
-Hard Drives
-Product Samples
-Most Non-Paper Material
-Electronic Media (USB sticks, Backup magnetic tapes, computer backups, CD-ROMs/CD-Rs/DVDs, videotapes, cassette tapes, etc.

**Keep in mind that any items you need shredded or recycles must be handed directly to Shred-It. Town employees (including Police Officers) cannot handle your items in anyway. If you need any additional information call the direct line of Shred-it at (704) 424-5997.
