Stallings Nature and Wildlife Club & North Carolina Wildlife Federation

North Carolina Wildlife Federation chapters are community-based organizations that together form a cohesive, statewide network of wildlife enthusiasts working for wildlife and habitat conservation.

Mission
To protect, conserve and restore North Carolina wildlife and habitat.

Vision
Our stewardship will result in a state with bountiful and diverse wildlife, including all species of wild flora and fauna that is valued by its citizens and elected officials and sustainably managed for future generations.

Our group meets from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month in the Stallings Civic Building.

Upcoming Nature and Wildlife Club Events

March 1 – A Bee’s Life & Bee Keeping – Educator Laurie Gentry from Greenville, SC addresses the ecosystem of bees and basic backyard beekeeping.

April 5 - Born to Fly Environmental Educator –  Sandi McGarrah, also known as the Nature Lady, will share about local birds, how to identify their colors, feathers, calls,  nests, eggs and migration patterns. Stay after the program and make a “backyard nesting bag”.  Use same information as previous NWC flyers regarding location and email/phone. 

Art to Lunch

Artisans & Crafters Social Lab | Wednesdays | 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.  
Artisans and Crafters unite to have fun, create new and exciting projects, and socialize each week.  All levels welcome.

Quilting 101

March 17 & April 14

8:00a.m. - 4:00p.m.

Stallings Civic Room, 323 Stallings Road

This class is two full day sessions with expert instructions in a small group, one on one setting.

Space is limited.  Sign up today for this FREE class.

Bring the following items to class: Lunch, Portable working sewing machine (with pedal/power cord), thread, bobbins, pins. All other supplies and instructions will be provided.

 

 

Pickleball

Stallings’ two outdoor Pickleball Courts are available and free - first come, first serve or reserve a court to play when available by calling or emailing Parks and Recreation office. In summer, enjoy “early bird” Pickleball group at 7:30am-9:30am, Mondays to avoid the heat!

Pickleball Clinics - $5 per person

Beginners Pickleball ages 16+ –  Sun, Mar 18, 2018. 2 – 4 pm
Adult’s Beginners Pickleball –  Tue, Mar 27, 2018.  10 am – 12pm
Pickleball: Sharpen Your Skills – Sun, Apr 15, 2018. 3 – 5 pm

New Orleans Trip

November 26 - Dec 1, 2018. Holiday Trip - 6 days, 5 nights $499 per person, double occupancy

Yoga 55+​​

One of our very own residents of Stallings instructs Yoga for ages 55+ on Monday and Thursday mornings from 9:00-10:15 at the Stallings Civic Building - 323 Stallings Rd.​

Only $6.00 per class.  ALL LEVELS WELCOME!​

Suggested Equipment: Mats, Blocks, Straps, Knee Pads, Bolsters (a limited amount of these items will be provided by the Parks and Rec Department)​

Tennis​​

Fun struTennis Lesson Advertisementctured learning in small groups and individual settings designed for beginners to intermediate skill levels. Coach Daniel Whitlock is USPTA and USTA certified. 

Youth​ - Tennis camps and clinics will be offered on various school days out and holidays throughout the year.

Adults - Individual lessons as needed. Leagues offered throughout the year.​
